Dr. Dimitrios Vasileiou is a Professor of Banking Management in the Department of Business Administration and Organizations at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He also serves as the Director of the Executive MBA program at NKUA.

Additionally, Dr. Vasileiou is the Director of the postgraduate program “Banking, Finance, and Financial Technology (FinTech)” at the Hellenic Open University (HOU) and has been a permanent member of its Governing Committee since September 11, 2019.

He previously served as the Director of the Master of Business Administration (NKUA MBA) program at NKUA (2018–2022). He was also the founder and Director of the Athens Banking Laboratory at NKUA (2017–2022) and a member of the Academic Committee for the postgraduate program “Philosophy and Administration” at NKUA (2017–2022).

Dr. Vasileiou holds a degree in Economics from NKUA and completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK, where he earned both an M.A. and a Ph.D.

He has been a Professor of Banking Management at NKUA and HOU and served as the Director of the postgraduate programs “Banking” and “Business Administration (MBA)” at HOU. He also served as Deputy Dean of the School of Social Sciences at HOU and Director of the joint postgraduate program “Banking, Accounting, and Finance” between HOU and the University of Nicosia.

Dr. Vasileiou has extensive professional and teaching experience. He taught for over 20 years at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), where he held positions as a tenured Assistant Professor of Financial Management and Lecturer of Financial Management.

He has authored numerous books on finance and accounting, taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and published and presented over 80 articles in prestigious Greek and international scientific journals and conferences.

His current research interests include Banking, Finance, Investments, Portfolio Management, and Accounting.
