Dr. Dimitrios Emiris (Dipl. Engr., M.Sc., Ph.D.) was born in Athens in 1965.

In 1987, he earned his Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).

He received his Master of Science and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1988 and 1991, respectively, from the University of Rochester, NY, USA. Currently, he is a Professor in the Department of Industrial Management & Technology at the University of Piraeus.

His research interests include Project and Production Management, Supply Chain Management, Revenue Management, and Automated Production Systems.

Dr. Emiris has published more than 120 articles in scientific journals and conferences.

He has authored two scientific textbooks, one on Project Management and the other on Robotics.

He has participated in numerous large-scale projects, including industrial maintenance, telecommunications, and software initiatives, and has served as a consultant for publicly listed companies to integrate Project Management practices into their organizational structures.

He has also been actively involved in advising major corporations on optimizing their supply chains, designing and redesigning their operational processes, and selecting and implementing ERP systems, particularly focusing on the supply chain management component.

Dr. Emiris has extensive teaching and seminar experience in both academic and professional settings, delivered either in person or through distance learning (e-learning).

Since 2008, he has been a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®).
