Dr. Marilou Ioakimidis is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management and Economics of Education at the Department of Business Administration and Organizations, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).
She has served as Vice-President – Vice-Rector for Financial Planning and Infrastructure at the Hellenic Open University (HOU), Advisor to the Minister of Education, Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Peloponnese, and Visiting Professor at the Department of Economics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she continues to teach to this day.
Dr. Ioakimidis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Piraeus, an M.A. in Industrial Relations and Organisational Behaviour (IROB) from the University of Warwick (UK), and a Ph.D. in Economics, specializing in Human Resource Management and the Economics of Education.
From 2013 to 2021, she served as Director of the Research Center of the Hellenic Scientific Institute of Economics of Education, Lifelong Learning, Research and Innovation.
In 2022, she was elected Member of the Board of Directors of the same Institute and appointed Director of the Documentation Center.
Her research and teaching interests focus on Human Resource Management, Economics of Education, Technology and New Learning Models, Distance Learning, and Lifelong Learning.
Her studies and articles have been published in prestigious international academic journals — including Academy of Management Discoveries, British Journal of Management, and Industrial Relations Journal — as well as by UNESCO, where she has received distinctions, and the Higher Education Academy (UK).
