Dr. Dimitrios Kenourgios is a member of the Administrative Council of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), Professor of Finance and Deputy Chair of the Department of Economics (DOE).
He is also the Director of the Master’s Program “Internal Audit, Risk Management & Compliance / NKUA IARC,” the “National and Kapodistrian University of Athens MBA,” and the UoA Center for Financial Studies.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Economics of NKUA (1995), a Master’s degree (MSc) in Money, Banking and Finance from the Department of Economics at the University of Birmingham, U.K. (1996), and a Ph.D. in Finance from the Department of Economics at NKUA (2001).
In the past, he has taught at the Department of Accounting and Finance and the Department of International and European Economic Studies of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), the Department of Banking and Financial Management at the University of Piraeus, the Open University of Cyprus, the Department of Economics at the University of Thessaly, and in postgraduate programs of the University of Strathclyde (U.K.) and University of Wales (U.K.) held in Greece.
He also teaches as a member of the Academic Teaching Staff at the Hellenic Open University (HOU), in the module “Financial Management – DEO31.” He is a member of international scientific associations and serves as a reviewer for international academic journals.
His research interests focus on the analysis of international and emerging financial markets, the transmission of financial crises, corporate finance, alternative investments, sustainable finance, and risk management.
Additionally, he has extensive experience in consulting for public and private organizations, professional training, as well as lifelong and distance learning.
His published articles appear, among others, in the following academic journals: Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, International Review of Financial Analysis, The European Journal of Finance, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Economic Modeling, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Multinational Financial Management, North American Journal of Economics and Finance, The Manchester School, Small Business Economics, Finance Research Letters, Journal of Policy Modeling, Research in International Business and Finance.
