Structure and Duration
The Postgraduate Program leads to the award of a Master’s Degree in “Business Administration for Executives” (“Executive MBA”) upon the successful completion of the curriculum.
Students enrolled in the program can choose to pursue one or more of the offered specializations, if desired:

To obtain the Master’s Degree (MSc), a total of ninety (90) ECTS credits are required.
Successful completion of twelve courses is mandatory for the Master’s Degree (MSc). Each course is worth 7.5 ECTS credits. Classes are held exclusively on weekends. Students must follow the course sequence as outlined in the curriculum.
The Executive MBA at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA) offers both full-time and part-time study options. In the case of part-time study, students attend 2 out of the 4 courses offered in the curriculum per semester. Consequently, the duration of the Executive MBA program at UoA, leading to the Master’s Degree (MSc), is as follows:
- Full-Time Program: The program lasts three academic semesters (1.5 years).
- Part-Time Program: The program can be extended to up to six academic semesters (3 years).

The Executive MBA offers a flexible and hybrid attendance model.
Specifically, classes are held in person on selected weekends at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, fostering face-to-face interaction between students and faculty.
At the same time, students who cannot attend due to geographical, professional, or personal constraints have the option to attend classes remotely in real-time via advanced technological platforms like Microsoft Teams or Cisco Webex. In this way, the program ensures the flexibility required by modern professionals without compromising the quality of the educational experience.
Are course exams conducted in person or remotely?
Course exams are conducted in person.
What are the differences between full-time and part-time study?
The full-time program lasts 3 semesters (1.5 years), with a more intensive course schedule and completion of classes and assignments in a shorter period. It includes 4 courses per semester.
The part-time program lasts 6 semesters (3 years), with a lighter workload per semester, providing greater flexibility for working students with demanding professional obligations. It includes 2 courses per semester.
On which days are the classes held?
All classes are held on weekends to accommodate Executive MBA students who are working professionals with busy weekday schedules.
Hence, the Executive MBA is a Weekend MBA. Additionally, real-time remote attendance is available via platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Cisco Webex for those who cannot attend in person.
How many sessions are conducted in total?
Each course consists of 5 sessions, each lasting 4 hours per semester, conducted exclusively on weekends.
Are the sessions mandatory?
The sessions are not mandatory, but we encourage students to attend for better performance and effectiveness in their studies.
Are all courses in the program mandatory?
Out of the 12 courses required to earn the Executive MBA degree, 8 are mandatory. Specifically, the courses in the first and second semesters (the first 8 courses) are mandatory, while the final 4 are electives based on the specialization/track chosen by the student.
Each study track corresponds to 4 specific courses.
Are the courses manageable for individuals from non-business backgrounds?
The Executive MBA is diverse and caters to professionals from various fields beyond business.
The program’s structure and teaching methodology ensure that participants with different academic and professional backgrounds can meet its requirements effectively.
Is submitting a written assignment required for each course?
Students complete an individual or group written assignment for each course.
Submission of the assignment is not mandatory, but it accounts for 30% of the total course grade. Failure to submit the assignment affects the final course grade.

Additionally, all distance learning classes include rich instructional materials provided by faculty, which students can access anytime to better understand the course content.
If I fail the final exam, is there another opportunity to retake it?
Yes. A retake exam is conducted in September.
What are ECTS credits?
The ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) represents the workload and defined learning outcomes of a course or program.
According to legislation, ECTS credits cannot exceed 60 per academic year. The Executive MBA offers 90 ECTS credits, with each of the 12 courses corresponding to 7.5 ECTS credits.
Is there a thesis requirement in the Executive MBA?
The Executive MBA program does not include a thesis requirement but instead incorporates a written assignment for each of its 12 courses.
This structure is better suited to the profile of professionals in such programs, ensuring they acquire practical knowledge and tools applicable to their workplace.
Instead of a final Capstone Project or strategic analysis group project, there are 12 written assignments (individual or group) designed to:
• Focus on applied knowledge
• Enhance multidimensional understanding across business management topics
• Provide flexibility for working professionals
• Allow continuous assessment and development of skills
• Promote a practical orientation aligned with the goals of the Executive MBA

When is the tuition fee payment due?
Tuition fees are paid in installments at the beginning of each academic semester. The total cost is €6,000:
