Dr. Kostopoulos is a Professor of Corporate Strategy and Director of the Laboratory of Management and Economics of Industrial Enterprises at the University of Piraeus.

He has previously served as an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia (UK), and the EADA Business School (Spain).

Dr. Kostopoulos also coordinates and teaches courses in postgraduate programs at the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Hellenic Open University, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and VU-Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

He has coordinated and participated in numerous research and consulting projects in the fields of corporate strategy, innovation management, business transformation, evaluation and formulation of R&D policies, and human capital development. His clients include organizations such as the European Commission (DG Enterprise and Industry, DG Research, DG Reform, Horizon Europe), the SAS Institute, the Swiss National Science Foundation, the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation, the General Secretariat for Research and Technology, the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator, the Hellenic Public Properties Company, and Athens International Airport.

He is a member of the Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP), the Ethics Committee, and the Coordinating Committee of the postgraduate program in Industrial Management and Technology at the University of Piraeus. Additionally, he organized and coordinated the first student conference of the Department of Industrial Management and Technology at the University of Piraeus.

Dr. Kostopoulos has received awards for his teaching and research contributions and serves as an expert for the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

His research has been published in high-profile international academic journals and conference proceedings, including the Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Human Resource Management, Long Range Planning, Group & Organization Management, Journal of Business Research, European Management Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, European Management Journal, and Academy of Management Best Papers Proceedings.

His current research interests focus on innovation management, organizational learning, behavioral theory of organizations, and HR management practices in organizations operating in rapidly changing, technology-intensive industries.
