Dr. Theodoros Kounadeas is a graduate of the Department of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).

He pursued postgraduate studies at NKUA, earning an MSc in Applied Economics and Finance with a specialization in Applied Accounting and Auditing, as well as an MSc in Communication and Media Studies with a focus on Political Communication and New Media.

Additionally, he holds an MSc in International Negotiations from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB).

Dr. Kounadeas completed his doctoral dissertation in the Department of Economics at NKUA on the topic, “The Application of International Accounting Standards/International Financial Reporting Standards (IAS/IFRS) in the European Banking Sector: The Contribution of IFRS 9 Adoption to the Quality of Financial Reporting.”

He has professional experience as an accountant and researcher. He has also served as an instructor in accounting at private higher education institutions and as a teaching assistant for accounting courses in the undergraduate program of the Department of Economics at NKUA.

During the academic year 2021–2022, he was a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Currently, he works at the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR) and teaches accounting courses in the Department of Business Administration and Organizations at NKUA.

His research interests focus on accounting and finance.
