Dr. Dimitrios Vasiliou is a Professor of Banking Administration at the Department of Business Administration and Organization, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).

Dr. Vasiliou has served as Director of the Postgraduate Programs “Executive MBA (Master in Business Administration for Executives)” and “MBA (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Master of Business Administration – NKUA MBA)” at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as a member of the Program Committee of the postgraduate program “Philosophy and Management” at the same university.

He was also the Founder and Director of the Athens Banking Laboratory (ABL) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Previously, Dr. Vasiliou served as Professor of Banking Administration at the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, at the Hellenic Open University, and as Director of the Postgraduate Programs “Banking,” “Master in Business Administration (MBA),” and “Banking, Finance and Financial Technology (FinTech)” of the Hellenic Open University. He was also Director of the Joint Postgraduate Program “Banking, Accounting and Finance” between the Hellenic Open University and the University of Nicosia.

Furthermore, he has served as Deputy Dean of the School of Social Sciences at the Hellenic Open University and as a regular member of its Governing Committee.

Dr. Vasiliou is a graduate of the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He pursued his postgraduate studies at the University of Kent at Canterbury (UK), where he obtained both his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees.

He has extensive academic and professional experience, having taught for more than 20 years at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), where he served as a tenured Assistant Professor of Financial Management and as Lecturer in Financial Management.

Dr. Vasiliou is the author of numerous books in the fields of finance and accounting, and has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He has published and presented more than 80 papers in internationally recognized academic journals and conferences.

His current research interests focus on Banking, Finance, Investments, Portfolio Management, and Accounting.
