Dr. Εkaterini Tsouma is a Senior Research Fellow (Grade A) at the Centre of Planning and Economic Research (KEPE), specializing in “Macroeconomic Analysis and Business Cycles, Composite Economic Indicators, and Quantitative Methods/Econometrics.”
She is a graduate of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in Germany and holds both a Master’s and a PhD from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB).
Her research and scientific work at KEPE includes both independent and collaborative projects, as well as contributions to Reports, Development Programs, and related collective studies for KEPE and other institutions. She has coordinated several collective Studies and has consistently undertaken positions of responsibility, including:
- Head of the monthly compilation of KEPE’s Composite Leading Indicator (CLI), April 2014–present;
- Head of the KEPE Factor Model Forecasting Unit, October 2012–April 2022;
- Editor-in-Chief of KEPE’s Monthly Bulletin of Economic Developments – Greek Economy and scientific supervisor (in collaboration with the editorial team), June 2014–December 2015;
- KEPE representative in the European Economic Network (EUREN), Member of the Editorial Committee (EUREN-News), 2011–2016, and Secretary of the Network, June 2013–2016.
Her teaching experience includes presentations at KEPE conferences and workshops, seminars at the Department of Economics of AUEB in the course General Economic History, as well as teaching tutorials for the courses Introduction to Economics I and II at AUEB.
Her current research interests focus on fiscal and taxation issues, the functioning of the price mechanism, as well as macroeconomic business cycle indicators and macroeconomic imbalances in the Greek economy.
