On Saturday, September 26, 2026, the official welcome event for the new Executive MBA postgraduate students for the 2026–2027 academic year was held at the Paparrigopoulou Amphitheatre of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).

The event opened with a warm welcome from Professor Nikolaos Eriotis, Dean of the School of Economics and Political Sciences and Director of the Executive MBA Program. In his address, he emphasized the significance of the students becoming part of the broad academic community of the country’s oldest and largest university.

He also highlighted the Executive MBA’s strategic vision and the unique opportunities it offers today’s executives for academic, leadership, and professional development.

Professor Georgios Sfakianakis, Chair of the Department of Business Administration and Organizations, then addressed the audience, focusing on the Program’s distinctive character and important role in contemporary business education.

He also highlighted the strong academic performance and international recognition of the Department, the School, and NKUA, as reflected in global university rankings.

Professor Emeritus Dimitrios Vasileiou then provided a comprehensive presentation of the structure, philosophy, and course content of the Executive MBA. He also offered the new students valuable practical guidance and advice regarding their studies, the use of the eClass platform, and how to make the most of the opportunities available to them throughout the Program.

The event concluded with a constructive discussion, during which the new students raised questions about the learning methodology, case studies, and academic initiatives planned for the year.

Members of the teaching faculty provided detailed answers and further guidance.

Following the formal proceedings, students and faculty members had the opportunity to meet in person and exchange views in a warm and collegial atmosphere during a welcome reception featuring coffee, refreshments, and finger food.

This marked the beginning of the networking and collaborative community that constitutes a fundamental part of the Executive MBA experience.

The welcome event marked the beginning of a demanding yet highly rewarding journey of learning and leadership development.

We wish all our new students a successful start and a productive academic year!
