Dr. Theodore Kounadeas is an Assistant Professor of Financial Accounting at the Department of Business Administration and Organizations of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He is a graduate of the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He continued his studies at postgraduate level at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds an MSc in Applied Economics and Finance, specializing in Applied Accounting and Auditing and an MSc in Political Communication.
He also holds an MSc in International Negotiations from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
He completed his PhD thesis at the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens on “The application of International Accounting Standards/International Financial Reporting Standards (IAS/IFRS) in the European banking industry. The contribution of the adoption of IFRS 9 to the quality of the accounting information provided’.
Dr. Kounadeas has many years of professional and teaching experience.
He has worked as an accountant and as a tax specialist of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue.
He was a member of the Central Administration of the Economic Chamber of Greece and Scientific Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Tax Policy and Public Property. In the academic year 2021 – 2022 he was employed as a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
He has taught accounting courses in Postgraduate Programs at the University of Athens, the Athens University of Economics and Business, the University of West Attica, the University of Thessaly and the Democritus University of Thrace.
He has been a supervising professor and member of the Examination Committee for the evaluation of more than fifty (50) theses in major Postgraduate Programs.
He collaborates with research laboratories of the Department of Economics and the Department of Business Administration and Organizations of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He has published and presented his papers in various scientific journals and international scientific conferences.
His current research interests focus on Financial Accounting, Management Accounting – Cost Accounting, I.A.S. / I.F.R.S. and Financial Statement Analysis.
