New International Recognition for the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA)

NKUA is ranked 156th globally and 67th in the European Union for 2022 based on the social impact of its research activities, according to the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR).
The recent results of the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) highlight the significant global impact of the research conducted by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
This ranking evaluates universities using data from the past five years, up to two years before the announcement of the rankings (e.g., 2016-2020 for the 2022 rankings). Institutions are assessed based on three key pillars of their research activities:
- Research Performance
- Innovation Output
- Societal Impact
